Segmentation of supporters and synchronisation with TAGS

"We now want to email people who have take a specific action with an update on the campaign. I can see how to download that data from action on Impact Stack, but is there a way to add or sync that data to the supporter records about who has taken an action?"

This is done via tags.

Segmentation of supporters with tags

There are two ways of how your supporters get their tags:

Automatically, at the creation of an action

If you edit or create an action, go to Advanced settings at the bottom of your page and select Auto segmentation.

Any tag you add here will be added to supporters who submit this action.

Please note that there might be a character limit for the list of tags a supporter record can have, for example 256 characters in Mailchimp. Thus, you might want to use concise, maybe coded tags rather that long tags.

To add many tags to a Impact Stack action at the same time, you can separate the tags by commas (,). Then, your tag list in Mailchimp will be of the format ,tag1,tag2,…,tagN,.

Manually, via the "Supporter Management"

If you sort your supporters according to a certain activity (like taking part in an action) and then bulk tag them.

  • Go to Manage --> Supporters --> Supporter Management
  • Filter supporters according to your own criteria
  • Click on 'Select all' and then 'Select items from all pages'
  • Click on 'bulk edit' on the right
  • Add tag --> Select your tag
  • Done! :)

Integration with email marketing tools

Tags should pop up in e.g. Mailchimp or Cleverreach without any further configuration. However if you want to know which fields get synced, here is a list of them What fields get synchronised with your email marketing integration?
